Joe, I've got a Hypertherm 380 I've been using for about 5 years now,
still going strong. Consumables are reasonably priced and last well.

There are a bunch of "made in China" versions out there now, but I doubt
I'd buy one of them.

When I did the research on mine, the Hypertherm, Hobart, Lincoln,
Miller, etc... consumables were all around the same price, as were the
machines themselves. ESAB makes a good machine as well, but the
consumables were more spendy. Of them, the Hypertherm is generally
considered the "best" for the $$.

The best piece of advice I could give is to ensure you have an EXCELLENT
drier/filter on the incoming air supply. The cleaner the air, the
cleaner the cut, all other things being equal.
HTH, Joe
