260 is stock EB; 297 is the F150 size - replaced by the 760, which is substantially stronger.

If you are using a EB D-44 and the F-150 D-44 knuckles you can use the EB D-44 axles inner and outer. If you want to use the f-150 axles you can cut 3/8" off the drivers side inner and use it but the pass. side will need to be re-splined. The f-150 axles are larger and use a bigger U-joint (260) Some of the venders call them HD axles.

Ok, so I got the D44 under my 66 and I've got I think everything I need except u-joints to convert to discs off of a D44 pickup. I thought they were all the same. Went to autozone.com only to find they use a different part number. Can I get a u-joint that will make the outers work? The other thing is I guess I'm assuming I can't use the drum outers, can I?
Thanks,
Tim
