Ok,
Since we're gettin all political, here's what I really think. It doesn't
matter who the president is, because whomever it is will be beholding to
large corporate America, who financed their way into the white house. So,
no matter how good their intentions are to do the right thing, by the time
they get there it's all over, there's nothing they can do but pass the
legislation and grease the palms of the Huge Corporations that put them
there. And these same things that help out Huge Corporations generally are
financed on the back of middle America, which is me and you and everyone on
here. I think we as Americans should say we've had enough, but who can we
say that to. I feel powerless as a working class stiff to do anything about
it. The only people we could complain to is the politicians, and they are
already knee deep in the mire and don't want to cut off their own little
perks so it falls on death ears. What needs to happen is campaign reform.
Put a limit on the amount of money any one person can spend on running for
office. Make all donations go into a common fund, which is split evenly
amongst the candidates, then donate the rest to charity. Let's say each
candidate gets 10 million, that puts every single one of them on an even
field, so they have to rely on their brains, and positions on issues instead
of having it be a face time on your television popularity contest.
