The 250 swap is a bigger deal since the bellhousing changed. 250 is a SBF bolt pattern and the 144/170/200 use the Falcon 6 bolt pattern.

If you want a IL6 why not go 250 like the Maverick (and others I'm sure) had in them. I have an old parts EB out behind my Dad's barn with a 250 in it. Looks like it fit right in with no problems. It's a 3speed tho.

I have been told that a 200 is a decent improvement from the 170. I have the opportunity to buy one cheap, my question is was will it take to convert? the 200 is an auto ant the 170 is 3spd. I'm stil gathering parts for the 351 upgrade but if this is quik and cheap enough it'll work until my daughter gets out of college.

    Thanks,

    Tim
