To keep this political and on topic I just failed my CA government mandated
SMOG test this morning.
I have to go to a SMOG "only" station and they are forbidden to do anything
but test the car. So I can't get much meaningful advise from them.
I have a 90-93 Stang 5.0 SEFI AOD setup in my 77. I failed the NO (ppm) test
with 1078 (1015 max pass) @ 15mph and 1047 (875 max pass)@25mph. Last time I
had it tested 2 years ago I also failed the NO and installed a new EGR and
new Cat and passed.
How can I test the EGR system. to see if it is working correctly?
The cat I installed was a cheep catco from Summit, about $65. I have heard
since that the catco cats are really junk and will only get you through one
inspection. Anybody have any insight into this?
Thanks
Norm
