Thanks Mark, as I continued to read I found one user of the clocking 
ring had the helical gears eat themselves and come to find out it was 
the "bearing cone thingy" allowed one of the gears to walk away from 
it's normal position.  (I believe it was the guy who asked KOZ to make 
it in the 1st place).

I've got to get the drivetrain mocked up so I can see if/how much I 
really want to clock it up.
