Don't forget that before there were liberals and conservatives there were republicans and democrats. I remember when all the democrats I knew were pro-gun, anti abortion, government supporting, religious people. With the liberals and conservatives there's nothing but bickering. There should be 4 major political parties. Liberal, conservative, democrat and republican. I'd probably be a libertarian though.

So, if I understand this correctly, the more money you have the more you can pollute? And the more "credits" you buy (because you have more money than the poor guys like us) the more you can convince yourself that you are really doing good to the environment and the economy because you are buying "credits" and spending money in the process! WOW what a system we have! Some how this system makes him MORE of a hypocrite than I originally thought he was because he knows he is the environment and instead of going "green" (as he demands from everyone but himself) he buys more credits so he can do more harm. And all this time I thought my Christian Conservative, ANTI gun control, pro life, Republican beliefs were sensible, now I know why they are.

Gore, participates in a system where by he buys CO2 credits to off set his personal carbon footprint. Supposedly the organization he contributes money to, plants trees and such that absorb CO2 and that cleans up the air and apparently absolves Gore of all wrong doing. So pollute all you want to, just make sure you are wealthy enough to cover you ass and make it look like you are doing something right. Oh yeah I beleive he has a part interest in one or several of these carbon trading companies. Makes sense that he then makes sure we are all going to hell over CO2 gas, the more we buy in to the idea the richer he gets. Forgive the approximate numbers but I have read that before global warming his family was worth around 5 Mil, now he is worth around 25 mil. Apparently business is good.

I agree about the part of wanting a good place for my 4 daughters to live in the future. But, I personally do not believe in the "global warming myth" that is out there and I sure don't buy into anything Al (Mr Hypocrite) Gore has to say. He rates right up there with Rosie O'Donnell and Michael Moore with their opinions on gun control and the war on terror. His (Gores) house produces more pollution and green house gases in a day than everything I own does in a year. Not to mention his private jet and all the huge SUV's that his security uses everyday to protect him, do they get tested the same as regular tax payers like you and I or do they get some type of immunity? If the earth is falling into the global warming as he says then why have the temps dropped across the earth? Why are we having snow storms at the end of April? Why are we having "storms of the century" happening? Why are only the scientists that agree with him interviewed but not the ones who disagree? If you believe in the global warming I have no problem at all with that, then let's just agree we disagree. I know I will bombed with emails saying how wrong I am and all that but, it is my right to feel and believe what I wish, the same as it is yours to do the same. I just cleared out all my old mail preparing for the bombing.

It serves a very good purpose when administered correctly. These tests help ensure air quality. The requirements vary by county and region due to varying local air qualities. The EPA requires certain standards met on a national basis and it is up to the local governments on how they choose to meet those standards. In the Portland area when have an attainment zone that requires the "smog" checks and seasonally reformulated fuels.

To put it simply: NOX is a green house gas, HC is unburned fuel, neither of which you want in the air you breath.

My 66' doesn't have to be tested because of it's age, but I took it through anyway just to see how it was running. They tested it for free, and it "passed" whatever standard they were using.

I recommend that everyone watch the "Inconvenient truth" no matter what you think of Al (invented the Internet) Gore as it is actually very well done. I felt the documentary/movie really helps put the global warming issue into perspective.

I personally would like this planet to be a nice place to live for my daughter!
