Joe,
Maybe you were remembering mine. It is the cast aluminum and was cracked in
several places when I got the engine. When I noticed it and brought it back
to the yard they had a guy that could weld aluminum and fixed it up for free
for me. If I had a steel pan available at the time, I probably would have
used that!

Subject: [BFix] Replacing Cast Oilpan on Explorer 5.0
OK, so somewhere back in my mind I seem to remember someone cracking the
cast oilpan from their Explorer engine (Jack?) and am thinking that
since I have the buggy apart I should go ahead and replace the pan with
something else.
Any issues with just swapping on an EB 302 pan/oil pick-up? Or a truck
5.0 pan/pick-up?
TIA, Joe
