[BFix] replacing 170 with a 200? 4.0??

I wasn't particularly loaded down, but I was driving fairly fast. I was
probably holding about 75 mph for the trip. The one thing that might be
killing my mileage is the 33" tires. I did factor in the speedo correction
when I reported the 14 mph, btw. It was just over 12 mph without taking that
into account. I did put in some Lucas fuel injector cleaner. I may try some
spark plugs next and maybe take a look at the air filter.

Quinn,

I sold my 97 Explorer last year. I also had the 4.0. I got 19 mpg on
highway trips regularly and about 15.5 mpg in combo driving. You must have
been seriously loaded down or really hauling the mail! The only time I got
mileage that bad was when I towed my boat with it. Then I got about 13. The
only changes I made over stock was a K&N cone air filter with the intake
tube and a Borla exhaust. That did help my mileage but I really didn't like
the 6 cylinder drone with that exhaust. You really had to turn up the stereo
or change rpms to get the resonate frequency to stop.
