[BFix] Need Spyware Help!!!

Hello All,
I am not sure what happened but I am being tormented with a popup that tells me that I have a virus--then tells me to go to a particular website to by a spyware killer thing.  From the cable company I downloaded McAfee but it doesn't do anything and the pop-up blocker isn't doing anything either.  Really buying $30 worth of spyware isn't what I want to do unless I have to.  Anyhelp would be great.
