We don't use them on overhead cranes and structures anymore for the same reason. Don't need a 40-ton crane with loose girders! We do find old ones with broken locks and replace them without. Nylock nuts are pretty popular....Its amazing how many bolts can be broken/missing/loose and a structure still works ok.
