Thats why you leave a old set in there and wait till it cools then just remove them.We have a extra set thats all they are used for then they will be tossed in the toolbox for trail spares.

Subject: [BFix] Tie-Rod/Drag Link Building Tip!!!

  Hello All,
I just wanted to pass along a tip if you are thinking about building your own tie-rod over steering. Building it is super simple if you have the correct tools and really you can assemble everything yourself and take it to a welder if you like. The one thing that I didn't do and just got done fighting for an hour in the Arizona heat could have been fixed for $50. If you build your own links you must run a tap down and clean up the threads or you will have just enough warpage that makes getting the threads in or out a nightmare. Almost all steering (and trac-bars for that matter) are probably going to use 3/4" -16 Left and Right hand threads-- those two taps I am finding will run right at $50 out the door for the pair. Believe me that $50 investment is chump change compared to the time you spend muscling the parts around or ruining the threads with all that muscle!

  HTH,
  Matt
