It was a bandaid from Ford, I've used them on everything from Escorts to Mustangs to fix idle concerns back in the day. Steve G.

The package from Ford says it works on everything with a IAB controller up to the 7.3l Diesel.

Yes,I think Ford actually developed it for one of their higher power SEFI applications after having idling issues. I think it might have been one of the Cobra applications, but can't remember for sure.

The 351 pulls more air through it than what the stock IAB can supply to keep it running. I got mine on Ebay for around 26.00, but I didn't see any on there right now. I would suspect that it would fix your problem, especially since you do have your VSS hooked up.

I'm finally getting around to trouble shooting a few issues with my EFI (been in for about 4yrs). The main issue I have is that on the trail if I have to switch back and for between Drive & Reverse, it almost always dies (worse than my carb ever did) sometimes it will die if I'm just putting it into gear to move in or out of the shop. It drives great once in gear, doesn't die at the stop sign or when I slow down, but for the last few years I've only driven it on the road or at SOB. I just got through running the codes and here is what I got: KOEO 81& 82, KOER 94, 44, & 33, C 33. I've looked through my Probst book as well as a couple others I have, and I know that 33 is EGR (which I have) and that the other refer to emission stuff I don't have. This all is hooked up to a 351W with Edelbrock upper and lower, A3M computer, 19lb injectors, 23 gallon tank with in-tank pump, distributor from a 87 F-250 w/TFI mounted on it, C-4 tranny, & VSS wires hooked up. All the injection stuff(except upper, lower, & distributor) came to me in a 5 gallon full of sensors and wiring so I used the fordfuelinjection.com site to trace each wire from the EEC pin configuration to the correct sensor because a lot of the wire colors were different. One thing I noticed today while doing the KOER test was that after the test was done and the RPM's dropped down, the engine would surge up and down between idle (about 650) to about 1100 for a few minutes, or if I gave it some throttle then it would idle like normal.
