I did this rear coil conversion quite a while ago. In fact, I did it before the current rage of maximum travel came about. I had just finished getting my frame powder coated when I went to the 1994 Auto Show here in Seattle. I happened to fall in love with the Land Rover Defender 90 which was just being introduced back into the US that year. So I decided that my Bronco was going to be as Roveresque as possible. And one of the biggest differences between the Defender and the early Bronco was its rear coil setup. I had to have it just because. So I gritted my teeth and ground off the leaf spring hangers off my freshly powder coated frame. It was a tough thing to do, but in hindsight, it was worth it. It has worked better than I ever thought possible.
