302 firing order

Post by Locopony Racing » Fri Dec 27, 2002 10:04 pm

just started engine this evening after lots of cooler lines for trans and
oil were installed.. a slight rewire of indicator lights inside.. and the
new c-6

no apparent leaks in any fluid or cooler lines..
headers smoked lots and i may ? have to repl the gaskets between header
flange and mufflers.. may be getting some leakage there..
would like to verify the firing order...
yes its a 351w but has a 302 cam..
"If" you count passenger side front as 1
passenger side rear as 4
drivers rear as 5
and drivers front at 8
and count the order counterclockwise..
i have 5 6 3 7 2 4 8 1
am i right ??

passenger side may have a header gasket leak as well as its noisier then
drivers side which i did not remove ( did remove passenger side)
did repl gasket with a new one... does anyone know torque specs on header
bolts..

Phil,
Pass side front to rear 1-4
Driv side front to rear 5-8
302 firing order 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
#1 plug wire is usually about the 1 o'clock position on the dist cap
