Color code search

Post by ctubbs78 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 5:24 am

Is there a bronco website that you can find only bronco color codes? I would like to have 67-72 if possible.

Not Bronco only, but there are the paint websites, like DuPont maybe(?) that show all the Ford colors. The original sheets are listed by color code and whether it's for cars or trucks. Problem with Ford is that the same color might have had a different code in different years, or the same code meant a different color the very next year!
And then the same code for a pickup was not the same color exactly as the Bronco. Or something to that effect.
Yikes.

I've copied images of the different years too, so maybe I've got something on my computer that could correspond to your search.
Since '67 to '72 is too broad of a search, if you're looking for a specific year, what year is yours? Or are you just browsing those years to see what you like?
Either way, I'll see what I've got, but look for the paint companies websites anyway.

I do have copies of the '70, '71 and '72 "Ditzler/PPG" color sheets if you need them. I think I got them from Viperwolf when he posted them.
Try a deep search here to see if they're still posted. If you don't find them, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you directly.

I have checked all years of early broncos. There are no turquise colors with a K code. Maybe the PO changed the ID tag.
If you go to autocolorlibrary.com, and go to fordtrucks and look at all the years, you will see all the color charts with the codes. The charts are ditzler/ppg.
Your color will be there, even if your code tag is wrong.

I guess my 77 is considered a medium blue then or the 72 shows it as a brook blue. I know the roof didn't change though its called a wimbledon white. I went back with a poly on mine when I had it painted.
'77 Bronco uncut 302, 2bbl, 9" rear, Dana 44 front, C4 Auto, 2.5" lift. New paint, weatherstripping and carpet in 09.
